Hello, I haven't been here in awhile. It's awesome to read all the feedback.
My situation is this: My '64 Ford falcon 144 cid distributor was needing adjustment. Come to find out it needed alittle cleaning. So, I pulled it out. Cleaned it up and added a few new springs and diaphram. The old diaphram had a hole in it.
I installed it, but couldn't quite get it dead nuts on the # 1 postion. It idles fine, but when under a load I feel alot of hesitation. I removed it again checking for sure I had it in the proper position.
a] # 1 piston at TDC [at the compression stroke]
b] install dizzy to match the # 1 position on the dist cap.

I still have the hesitation. Any input would be greatly appreciated...ZZ

NEW SPRINGS EH? DID YOU PUT THE LIGHT ONE IN THE HEAVY ONES LOCATION? CHECK TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE THE CORRECT WEIGHT. THE OTHER POSSIBILITY IS SINCE YOU HAD A HOLE IN THE DIAPHRAGM, THE FUEL MIX WOULD HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED FOR THE VACUUM LEAK AND NOW IT WON' RUN RIGHT NOW UNTIL YOU FIX THAT.
