are sidepipes legal in california

I want to put sidepipes on my mustang but I dont want to get pulled over. Would there be a problem

I put a set of patriot side pipes on my mustang. I'm in florida and it seems like we have no car laws, so I duno about california. The pipes really aren't that loud though. A little ricey sounding unfortunately to me.

well i live in los angeles and i have a 62 comet with my pipe on the side.. with a glasspack.. and i haven't had any problems yet.. been driving like this for about a year... and its prety loud.. i have only gotten pulled over by a cop once but only to see my car and compliment on it.. i couldn't belive it..
