Assessing more Mav Damage

It's been a week since the wreck. I started taking the front end apart, so could start making an inventory/priority list for rebuilding the Mav. I pulled the radiator away from the fan and tried to crank the car. I got a terrible grinding noise. It was getting late, so I stopped for the night.

I am wondering (hoping) that it's the waterpump, rather than the starter or engine bearing(!)

I would take off (or cut if necessary) the belts to take any other moving parts out of the picture to start with. If it is the water pump, hopefully it is just grinding on the #1 cylinder and hasn't broken it, sometimes in a nose crash the water pump impellor will crack through the number one cylinder.
