Whats the widest 17" wheels that I can fit to AUIII sedan, 17x7, 17x7.5 or 17x8's plan to have 17/225/45 or 17/235/45 tyres ??

It'll depend on your backspacing how wide the rim can be. The tyre will reflect how low the car is, as well as depend on the backspacing.

17×8s were factory on the XR8s and some of the XR6s.

17 x 8s are stock with 235/45 tyres.They fit easy.I dont know what the next step up is in tyre size though.The prob with the 235 tyres is as soon as u touch a gutter ur rim is scratched or dagged.
