I have a 240, I think, in a 65' F-100 The dizzy is definitely a loadomatic (vac only). But the carb has no spark advance valve. The engine has been replaced early on (late 60's) with a remaned engine. The carb is a 1100 or 1101.
Reason I ask -- I want to upgrade to a vac/mech dizzy. But I read that the earlier loadomatic carb and dizzy were kind of "made for each other". Specifically, the vacuum from the 1100 loadomatic unit was lower, basically a mix of ported and venturi vacuum. So if you attach it to a standard dizzy (66-73) vacuum, you get little or no vac advance.
Who knows how to tell a later, non loadomatic carb from the earlier carbs? Are all 1100 carbs loadomatics? Are all 1101 carbs the better, 215 cfm airflow units that went with the big sixes? Any good way to tell them apart?
Thanks.....
