Autolite 1101

Anyone know if Autolite 1101's were made prior to 1969? If so, did they still flow 215cfm? I've never heard of this before and ran across a guy claiming he has one for sale. I've personally never seen one, so I can't really verify by sight, but it does appear to have a SCV. Would be a nice bolt on without having to swap the dizzy.

Thanks for any help,
Jay

Yes, The Autolite 1101s were used on full sized Ford cars and trucks with the 223 ci sixes from about 1959 to '64. They have a spark control valve and are rated at 215 cfm. They are very similiar in appearance to 1100s. Measuring the throttle bores for comparison is the best way to be sure what you have. I'm away from my reference materials so I may not be exact on the years.

This may be the easiest carb upgrade on an otherwise stock '64 to '67 200 with a Load-a-Matic distributor. The only adaptation necessary is to slot the carb mounting holes and to add a taper to the carb adapter to allow the larger butterfly valve to clear. Linkage, fuel lines, air cleaner and vacuum lines are a direct swap. Be sure to recheck the linkage to get full throttle when the pedal is to the metal.

The TB you are looking for in an 1101 is 1.69" or 1 11/16". The inside diameter of the venturi is 1.29". The external appearance is very similiar to an 1100. measure the throttle bore to be sure of what you are buying.

CORRECTION- The 1101 first appeared on the 223 engines in full size Ford cars and pickups in 1963.

Keep us posted.
