so the problem goes like this...my car warms up with a higher fast idle than she should have but it's okay by me (i'm no perfectionist). The problem comes when she kicks down to a slower/rougher idle (more than likely due to my only par or sub par tuning skills - again i'm no perfectionist!). As soon as she kicks down and i go to reaccelerate say from off the line, my engine drive belts will squeal like crasy unless i feather the pedal. eventually she will quiet down but the first maybe 4 seconds off the line i get this irritating squeal. It's also occured when I get in my car, start it and shift into neutral (on my way to drive). It's bizarre and I've adjusted belts before but they don't seem to be too loose (indicative of a squealing sound) or too tight...
Any suggestions? Any rule of thumb on how much give your belts should have....keep in mind they are all fresh from the rebuild less than 3 thou. miles ago and this squealing just occured out of no where....
P.s. my dad says the fact that the car drops down to idle and at a very slow RPM has nothing to do with a squeal as soon as i mash the gas....what do you all think?? Thanks!!
