Bronco 1966 170ci swap for 1978 200ci (Progress)

I thought I would start a new thread, one just for showing the progress. Yesterday I unhooked and pulled the 170ci motor. I decided to not pull out the transmission right now, so that's still in the Bronco. Then I put the 200ci motor in. My plan is to run the old motor for a couple seconds, just to hear it. When I bought the motor I never heard it run, so I don't want to buy a whole bunch of stuff and the thing knocks like crazy.

So far, the only modifications I've had to do are to the metal dowel pins on the block that slide into the bell housing and making new holes in the bellhousing block plate. Even the 200ci oil pan fits in nicely, motor mounts line up, and without an air cleaner the hood closes all the way.

So today I'm going to hook up the fuel line, starter, and crank her up. Then I'll pull it back out, buy my list of parts, and begin working.

My freshen up list is:
DSII (already in)
Plugs and wires (already in)
Oil pan gasket
Rear main seal
Water pump
Valve cover gasket
thermostat
clutch kit/pilot bearing/bushing

"... swap oil pickup tube also..."
or just turn it so it's in the "relocated sump". (all done to cleAr the front chunk - probably not needed w/a 170 to 200 swap - same sizes).
Bubba suggests the p/u be (did he say?) 1/4 inch off the floor of the pan.
Use a straight edge & measure B4 pan is installed to ID where it'lll sit.

I'd love to C a pic of the motor mounts/towers. May B too late?
Kinda square flat things? Or are they like a pyramid or more correctly triangle? and big rubber pad?

Yeah Chad, the motor mounts are triangle with the rubber pad. I can snap a pic if you want.

My 170 oil pan is pretty beat up, do I need to swap it so the radius arm doesn't hit? It fit's right now with about 3-4 inches of room.

On my 170 to 200 swap I used the 170 oil pick up and pan on the 200. Been almost 20 years ago but that is how I remember it.

3-4 inches isn't alot of flex on that, I highly recomend using the bronco pan, it's made to give the max clearance. you can get away with the 200 pan but I wouldn't trust it on any bumpy road.

Isn't it about the frnt vs rear sump to create room on the chunk? Or is it for the gradients so U can get oil to the motor even when tipped. From all I've heard - the former...
