i have a c4 from a 81 200 6 cyl will this work with my 65 200 6 cyl in my 65 mustang, will i have to change bell housing, torque converter, fly wheel? what are the differences between the 81 and 65 besides the green dot. any and all advice and help is appreciated.

If the 81 200 6cyl has the high mounted starter, then it should work with your 65 Mustang, and everything should switch over.
If it has the low mounted starter, then you would have to switch out the bell housing, and flexplate, and maybe the torque converter.

You had better check to see if that C4 is a case fill or pan fill first.
From prior posts for those that converted, there is a compatability issue with the 2 different bell housings.
I fi am not mistaken, the pan fill bell will not fit an early type C4, but the case fill bell will fit the pan fill tranny.
Double check this also.

Your 81 block donor might be a large bell V8 type and will not fit your block. It might also be a pan fill.
In this case, the convertor and flex plate are not compatable with your block. Flexplates are fairly cheap, convertors not so cheap.
Normally one gets a new convertor with a tranny overhaul. It is built into the price. You do not want to install a used convertor onto
a new tranny as any metal debris will contaminate the internals of the tranny.
