I was talking to the guy at Pony Carbs today about getting more getting more power out of my 200 Six. He was a believer in leaving the carb alone and replacing the cam. He said you would get the best 1/4 mile results from the cam than anything else?
Seriously, the motor is hugely undercarbed. What good is more cam duration or lift, expecting greater rpm, if you run out of breath with the existing carb.

twentyover is right, these engines suffer from a lack of breathability. If you do not do anything about the airflow, then a cam will not help much. One of the first issues to address with these engines is the exhaust/fuel system.
If you want to stay with a 1 barrel carb, pony carbs sell a 1100 with a 223 six venturi which flows 215 cfm. if you put that carb on go to a larger cam such as a mild fspp camshaft from mike. www.fordsixparts.com
do both mods at the same time. If you want more power than a 25 hp increase plan to spend big bucks on head work & exhaust, camshafts ++++. good luck william
