carb adapter

Ok so i would like some opinions on carb adapters? The setup is a 170 c4 pektronix ignition. The new carb is a autolite 2100 off a 260 with 1.01 vents. Would like to know what works best for you guys if spacers were needed to clear the valve cover that kind of stuff. I know I will have to deal with linkage or cable so please don't include that in your recommendation.
Thanks matt

2-bbl 2150 is listed, the 2100 is basically the same. See 2091,2092 especially, but read all of it. Lotta info in it, more than you'd ever imagine. 255 4.2 liter 1980-1982 2150 was about 297 cfm at 3"Hg, a nominal 200 cfm in the article, but about the same size as the 1.01 " 260 carb.

Direct mount is best, but anything will do.

For me, I'd use one of the Classic Inlines carburetor adapters from the webpage. If you want to install a 2V carb, use the conversion method.

Later model log heads are easier to convert.

Its your choice

i have used a 2bbl to one bbl carb adapter, and while it worked fairly well, it could have been better. the biggest issue with my set was that i put my set up a small log head instead of a large log head.

in the end it is an inexpensive way to go while you prepare a large log head for a direct mount conversion.

Use the stock 260 jets. Its a 164 hp gross engine, about 144 hp DIN net. The German T5 Mustang's and Sunbeam Tiger 260's were factory rated at DIN Net for rego purposes.

I'd expect you'd get close to that jetting level, and the porting to the intake maniflod would need a liitle extra fuel.

You can use any of the bolt on adaptors Mike sells as a stop gap measure.

Even ones like this...

have a place if it gets you along the path to a direct mount bigger log.
