: Will the stovebolt or the clifford holley adapter fit to the 4000 series Holley carbs? I have access to several 500 CFM holley carbs, but I dont want to spend the money on an adapter unless you think these carbs will fit them.: Also, on Stovebolt AND Clifford. the adapters measure 2-3/4 inches... I measured my intake and the bolts Center to Center are 2-15/16 exact. are the adapters slotted to fit?USE: I have a 1975 Merc Comet - 250 IL-6 , C4 Tranny.
Problem: Weak on heavy throttle and tends to flood easily. :x
Plans: Upgrade Carb to 2bbl Holley (Unsure of best 1 to choose from)
Transogo shift Kit, New Tranny Filter and Fluid.
History: The 1975 Comet is a 1 Owner (I am the second), the car has been sitting for 2 years and is in need of restoration. I dont want to swap to a V8 (Heaven forbid). But this engine has 98K Original miles on it and is acting tired...
