Carb bracket for C4 trans

I have a 64 Falcon with a 170. I got this car for free, gutted, with a whole bunch or south of the border "custom" work done to it, such as the C4 tranny they swapped out in place of the original manual trans being held in place by a makeshift bracket and 4 holes drilled through the floorboards and bolts sticking through the carpet. Needless to say, I've since remedied that, but because they swapped trannies out, my carb does not have the proper linkage to hook up the Lokar kickdown kit I purchased. It hooked up fine down on the tranny itself, but when I got up top to the carb, there was nowhere to attach it. Is there an aftermarket bracket kit to help fix this, or does anyone know where I can get this part or does anyone have on lying around that they would part with? Its the bracket on the side of the carb that the throttle acuator attaches to, and on cars with automatics, it has a lower part attached that the kickdown goes to. I don't have that lower part since the car was orginally a three on the tree. Help!

I have a 68 stang and the kickdown goes to the bottom of the linkage as it exits the car. I dont know if it is the same on your car I hope it helps John.

Unfortunately, its not the same on the 64 Falcon. It comes up and connects just below where the throttle does on the side of the carb. On the later models it was attached at the firewall where it comes out I think. Thank you for replying though, no one else seems to have an opinion!

On the '65s it was on the driver side of the bellcrank. I don't see how it would work on the carb itself.

So why would they use a bellcrank some years and a rigid Z-bar linkage other years for the same motor?

8) for automatic transmissions on the falcons, and other fords, they use a link that dropped down from the bellcrank. they eliminated that link with manual transmissions since it interfered with the clutch Z bar. what you might do is find a fairmont, or other fox body car, with the six, and grab the kickdown cable linkage from that car. they used a cable linkage that connected to the carb.
