Carb identification issue

I just purchased a carb off ebay with the code C30F-AK

I know what the most of the casting is, but both me and my dad cannot determine what the K stands for. I figure it is a difference figure like the A B or C at then end of engine castings, but k seems pretty far along in the alphabet to be real.

Howdy Back:

The Pony Book lists a C3of-AK as an autolite 1100 from a 1963 Fairlane or meteor with a 170 engine with a manual trans. The first listed for this car has a suffix of "A" so I'm guessing that the "AK" suffix is Probably later in the production year with a very slight change, or no change at all, just a different production run.

Hope that helps.

That is weird because it was very strongly advertised as a 200 carb, but they might not have known the exact engine, just that it was off of a sixty four.

Howdy Back:

To verify, measure the inner diameter of the venturi- 1.1" + 170 carb. 1.2" + 200.

Prior to 1965 only Comets and Meteors had automatic chokes. Which choke does it have?

Auto trans carbs have an anti-stall dashpot on the side of the floatbowl opposite the accelerator pump.

If you're reading the code from a metal carb tag to ID, the tag could have been swapped from a different carb at some point.

Thru 1965 most 1100s have a code stamped into the base of the carb. Check this code to the metal tag.
