Carb issue (8HA 1bbl)

After driving and turning off the engine, I noticed a "fog" coming out of my carb (8HA 6cyl). Looking down into the airhorn I noticed gas dripping off the nozzel bar.I replaced the nozzel bar and continued to have the same issue. Today, I double checked the needle seat and float adjustment. I changed to a smaller jet and leaned out the mixture. I reassembled and that slowed the drip, but it still drips. Is this how its supposed to work? Am I worried over nothing?

From experience , You need to install a fuel pressure regulator in line before the carbs ( all the sixes benifit from this ) , after shut down the fuel in the carb is heated , including whats in the line leading up to the carb , without a regulator the pressure will overcome the needle and seat and over fill the bowl slightly enough for it to flood , ( not allways but enough to see postings on this , commonly mis diagnosed as vaporlock ) the regulators are less than 35.00 and take less than 30 min to install , and will pay for themselves in the fuel economy benifit alone , set it at 4 lbs to start and try it as low as 2, ( a hard pull up a hill is a good test ) bump it up in 1/2 lb increaments till it dosent die out , The cars origonally had less problems with this but this AINT the 60's anymore and the Gas is of a different combo ( better suited to FI ) but with some tweaks fine for the Older stuff .

The density of today's gasoline is less than what the carburetor was designed for and the boiling point is lower. The first change means your float is less buoyant in today's gas, you will need more of the float submerged to get the same force on the needle. This means there is more gasoline in your carburetor float bowl than it was designed for. When the gasoline in your carb absorbs heat after the engine shuts down it expands and will take the easiest path out of the float bowl. That path is out your nozzle bar. All of this is a very long winded way to say that all you need to do is lower you float a bunch. I wouldn't change jetting if you car is running well otherwise.
