Carb pumps out fuel through overflow

Carb pumps out fuel through overflow tube when trying to start, whats happing? Carb is a motorcraft on a 250 ci all original on a 69 mustang.
Runs for few seconds (rouph), then shuts down. I am guessing needle valve or float, but want opinion from somone who knows.

Sounds like a float not closing the valve. Could be trash, could be a worn ut needle, could be a collapsed or filled float.

Basicly time for a rebuild?

Or at least a thorough cleaning. The needle and seat do evenually wear out, and most kits have a replacement. That could be all you need.
