I just picked up an autolite 1100 locally.
The tag numbers are:
C8PF E
A 8H 13

Does anyone know what that carb is originally made for or direct me to where I can get that information.

thanks
George

Howdy George:

Check out the third digit. It should be a "O' and not a "P"

C8OF-B = 1968 engineering/design change B
8H 13 = 1968, 8th month, or August, thirteenth day.

A 1968 1100 will be a down sized 1100 rated at 150 cfm. It will not have a Spark Control Valve, but will have a ported vacuum source for the 1968 distributor. It is a points distributor, bu has both centrifugal and vacuum advance. This carb is not compatible with a Load-O-Matic distributor.

Adios, David

Thanks again David.

To run this carb on my 66 would it be as simple as switching to a 68 distributor?

And will this carb function with the DUI distributor I plan to use in the future?

Could be. You may have to use manifold vacuum.

Ported vacuum is a result from the EPA and the State of Cal-e-forn-ya that sees all, and knows all that is cancer causing..
I’m not a fan of ported vacuum at all.
However all that means is I don’t like it.

It should work if you plug the ported vacuum and use manifold vacuum..

HOwdy Back George:

Yes, It will work as designed with either distributor with a ported vacuum advance signal. THe down-side is that it will be down considerably on CFM and power. The upgrade in the distributor function will not make up for the loss.

"P" = Autolite/Motorcraft
"F"= Engine accessories
