hey guys just wondering what are the barrel sizes on a 250 xflow alloy head? i know the 2ltr pinto is a decent carb and just wonderin if it would be worth re-jetting that?

Pinto/Cortina Bressel/Weber DGV carb has 25 and 26 venturis and 32/36 throttles. Designed for no more than 102 hp in the Euro Cortinas

The Falcon Weber 34ADM has 29 mm barrels and 34 mm throttles. Designed for 131 hp.

The earlier Cortina Weber DGV can run similar Falcon size venturs if you fly cut them out. There is enough space to take both to 29 mm without having to epoxy up the main carb body.Without enlarging the venturis to Falcon size, it is more restrictive than a 1 -bbl Bendix. 110 hp is about it unless you get the thing fully rebuilt with bigger venturis.

In any case, the Cortina carb is water cooled and unless you fit the electric choke from the Falcon, it won't fit without spacing the intake manifold out another 20 mm with a custom made alloy gasket and longer bolts.

For the cost, a stock ADM is jetted correctly if it has the right suffix on the carb id plate (indicating 3.3, 4.1, or what model). On balance, the DGV isn't a good choice. I have heard of it being possible to take one out to 265 cfm with lots of grinding mods, and 30 and 31 mm venturis from the stock 226 cfm. However, a stock ADM flows over 280 cfm right out of the box. Since Ford has done it all, why bother.
