Chrome valve covers

I am getting close, any sources for chrome valve coves. I have seen the plain ones in all the catelogs, hoping for somethig nicer. Clifford's is alright FSPP is still working on one. I saw KASTANG had sold which was nice , any ideas.

Thanks for the pic. thats the one I have seen, hoping for something different. As far as heat retention thats new to me but a concern with all that I'm doing to this engine.

I sent mine to Mike (FSPP) and he is having it (and several other parts) jet hot coated for my new motor! 8) 8) 8)

Go w/ geezer and send your current cover to mike at fspp if it is still good to be jet hot coated. Looks great and if there is any heat concern that will help I have my header, valve cover and waiting for oz manifold all done 8)

Geezer, what else are you having coated, I love the look and am thinking of other engine parts that would look good coated

Not meaning to sound like a spoilsport, but... Wouldn't the best finish for the inside of the cover be dark and rough (surface area), but non-stick (like the High Energy pans' coating)? The outside would be finned and shiny to radiate the heat away from the top.

I had my timing chain cover done allready and I just sent out my 1980 valve cover (different lettering than yours) the 2 stock engine lifting brackets and the lid for my air cleaner.

Next batch will probably include the throttle cable bracket, alternator fan, and the coil bracket.

I allready have the FSPP jet hot coated headers 8) 8) and my Holley 2 Bbl is the "aluminum" color.

I was going to have the pulleys done also, but since I just recieved my hi-po balancer (its black) I decided to paint all the other pulleys black to match the balancer and the deep sump oil pan!

Block & head is blue with chrome wire looms and chrome valve cover t-bolts.

Hopefully this will give you some ideas!!!

My deep sump oil pan wasnt coated on the inside...is it some kind of teflon coating??

Doug, maybe they only do it with the windage tray-equipped units. It looks like that non-stick on the inside of ovens, flat and grey. Yes, probably some kind of Teflon type coating. Maybe they had issues with poor adhesion?

Doug, thanks for the list. time to start saving up . Love to see some pics after you get all the parts installed 8) I have the hi-po balancer also and was thinking about the same coloring you mentioned to match the black.

Mine has the windage tray but no teflon coating....maybe mine was one of the 1st ones since they quit coating them?? I dont know what problems they would have with teflon....sticks pretty good to my wifes pots & pans!

I'm starting the work on the motor as soon as I finish up repainting the engine bay...I'll be sure to post a couple of pics!!

Actually I have 2 motors I'm working on....The one I've been running that I'm "freshening up" and another one that is going to be somthing different.... 8) 8) 8)

Are the windage trays part of the pan? Or are they a seperate bolt on?

Do they make one for a 250?
