Does anyone know anything about the 1904 1v CI offers? its a good looking carburetor but they don't say much about it, who actually makes it ? Does it have a venturi booster ring? It has an adjustable main jet that sounds kinda cool. Has anybody tried one?

Hi Ken,
I'm not up on all things carb but know it had man. choke & was for the 144 (1960 @ 130 CFM) and the 170 (in '61, @ 150CFM).
They upgraded it 2X for:
1) the comet/meteor (#1908),
later
2) w/auto choke (#1909, in '62) - but through out had that small throttle boar.
All (as they were pre '68) have SCV so need to mate to the L-O-M dizzy. Holly wuz done then till comming back in the '80 - '83 yrs.
I'm pretty sure the co. U mention will have taken the basic 1904 and done some improvements 2 it B 4 sales - ask 1st.
I'd wanna place a "larger oem carb" on a "smaller engine" to get performance increases (ie a 250/300 carb on a 170/200 ).

Thanks, but I'm wanting information specific to the new 1v carburetor classic inline sells. Has anybody tried one? Are they any good? I'm very interested in them.

I remember you posting that, I guess no one here has ever used one. It looks good I like that its a direct bolt up and has good CFM. But I'd like to find out more about it before I lay out that much money for one.

Judging from the carb's part number on the CI site it's one from daytonaparts.com. From some research I did it is made by Caresa SRL in Argentina. Digging through that site led me to a whole lot of parts. So, I wouldn't necessarily have any problem with the carb being made in AR or the fact that it's from Daytona Parts or CI is just providing a one stop shop for all of our parts. We now know where to get them and they're backed by 2 good US companies, one that knows carbs in and out and the other that knows the ford 6's in and out. Since there are so many sizes, Im betting the one offered on CI is the one we need for our 1.5 or 1.75 log sixes.

BTW, I found the Caresa SRL reference over on SlantSix forums and read that Caresa is the S. American authorized/licensed Holley manufacturer. I was pretty impressed with what Caresa SRL manufactures for their other product lines. For better or worst it's certainly interesting how globalization leads to building markets. This is an example similar to how we here in the US desire the AU heads (and.. AR heads), yella terra parts, JDM spec engines, EU spec BMW mills, Holden GTO's... I want a darn 2013 AU Falcon. I hate U interwebs!

Best,

Perry

Thanks Perry, that's the kind of stuff I'm looking for. I appreciate you doing all that research. I'm on the road a lot and working from my android so-called smartphone which is not real conducive to a lot of research. Sounds like a really good product I would be interested in purchasing. I'm more into the restoration side of things but I still like to improve performance where I can and a carburnuetor like this would fit the bill perfectly.

Thanks Kenny.

no problem. I started looking into these when I saw them to see how they'd do in a tri power setup.
so thats some more diggin I needs to do. 1904s for tri power...
fwiw, I have a 1910 (I think) which was used while I was getting my 1101 straightened out.
