I have been trying to to the classic inlines site (formerly known as ford six parts) and it says that the sit is down, It has been this way for a little while now, Any one know what is up with it?

Mike's probably just updating it.....maybe some more neat stuff he is adding to the list----yea, that's it!!! That has to be it!!!! 8) 8)

Its been down since Saturday morning, but I haven't been able to log onto the datbase since last Tusday, which is causing me all sorts of problems filling new orders.

The company I use was based in Florida, but recently moved their operations to Texas to avoid the hurricane season. While they were migrating the files to their new servers in Texas, they somehow lost some of the files, including the database. They are working now to locate them on a backup server and will upload them as soon as they can, which could take three to five days. Hence, we are hoping to be back online sometime next week.

They actually started migrating sites in August, but just shut down the old severs late Friday night, which is why the site went down. I'm sure the Hoildays aren't helping the situation either, as they are probably working with a skeleton crew. :?

cool, I was wondering also. pretty soon, I'm going to order some stuff, rod and main bearings, dished pistions, rings and the full roller rockers, also the stainless oversized valves. couple weeks probably.

Any word yet on when the site will be functioning again? It must really be frustrating for you. All these folks with Christmas money to spend and no way to spend it...

Is there another way to place an order? I'd like to order a set of valves so I can get some machine work done soon.

Thanks...

Hopefully they wil get this straightened out soon. Its very frustrating.

You can place orders in the mean time, by sending me a PM or e-mail.

Still down. Mike must be overheated!! Somebody get a 16" fan to blow on him.

I'd say that "overheated" is and understatement if I ever heard one. I'd have been looking for a new provider long before now. I'd hate to think how much Christmas and post Christmas business he's lost. I ask if there was any update as I saw a posting on a Mustang web site where somone had recently accuired a '67 I6 and was looking for Hipo parts. Sent the guy a brief explanation of the problem, Mike's email address, hoping Mike would not lose a customer, the correct URL, the forum address and told hime to keep trying the site.

you can go to google and search for www.classicinlines.com and scroll down till you find it in the results and when you find the classic inlines web page click on "Cached" link next to the URL and it will take you to the google cache of the site, it has no pictures and is hard to navigate but all the text is there. this is how we get around firewalls at the library and such.

oops! i just figured out that the links from the home page aren't cached  i guess the classic inlines site isnt popular enough to be fully cached  but you can still look at the homepage...

I've been working 24/7, designing a new website. It has a lot of new features compared to the old website. Hopefully I'll have it ready to upload by the end of the coming weekend..... on a NEW server.

Hey Mike, you wouldn't happen to be you using Your-Site.com as your host? My wife's website/mail server has been fubar'd for about the same amount of time. They just got her website up two days ago, her incoming mail available last nite, but she still can't send any outgoing mail. I'm almost tempted to build a server and set it up on my home network for her at this point.

The server I'm using now, is Verio. I've had a lot of problems with them over the past six months. But before that, none in four years. I don't know what's up with them latley, but they lost my business as a result.

Before that, I was with Dollar hosting. All I will say, is BEWARE.

Well, AZ---Sorry to hear of the problems with the site...I can't order anything yet---have to save up from what I spent on the holidays. So you didn't lose any sales here anyway.....However, I hope you get it up because I do have a wish list growing in the back in my mind along with the lollipops, candy canes & sugar plums! Truly, man I know you lost sales here---but with our needs here you'll recover from the loss.
