if i deck the block how do i now how much to mill off the head is there some way of measuring the clearence its a 200 with log head?

That's a loaded question that really can't be answered without more info on the engine and head! What year and size are they? What are you wanting out of it etc... The best answer I got was to buy the Falcon Six Performance handbook and read it a couple of times! Basically there are so many ways you can go with it!
