Clifford Single Outlet Header for a 170???

Hi Everybody,

I picked up a Clifford single outlet header on eBay a while back for my 64 1/2 Mustang. When I looked up the header on Clifford's website, it says that their single outlet header, #53-2600, is for a 200 or 250. Their dual outlet header, #53-0186, is listed for a 170 or 200. I emailed Clifford once asking if the single outlet header would fit a 170 and I was told that it would not, but that the dual outlet header would fit and was better anyway. I can't think of any reason why the header would fit a 200 and not a 170. Can anyone clear this up for me? Could it be that Clifford just wanted to sell me a dual outlet header? Could the generator be in the way maybe? I didn't tell them that I already had one so maybe they didn't have any singles in stock.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

It has been awhile since I looked at the catalog and or "delved" into the inline 6 stuff, but if 9 1/2 years of working there my memory should still be ok.... That part should fit. The only 170 that does not fit is the Mopar headers because of the 170 Mopar block being shorter than the 198 and 225. The Ford however, should all be the same from 144-200.
