We just got a 64 Ford F100 with the 223 3 on-the-tree transmission. I am trying to adjust the clutch linkage because it feels loose and engages at the very top of the pedal. I cant seem to budge the lock nut. There is not much room to get leverage. Is there any reason I can't just remove the cotter pin and take out the whole push rod so that I have easy access to lock nut and the adjusting nut? It looks like to would be easy to take out.
