I have a 1975 TD ford cortina, 4 cyl+4 spd with 3.7-1 open diff with 15 in SAAB rims. Removing 4 cyl and adding a warm 200+4spd, which i picked up in a wagon. Keeping 3.7 gears, adding LSD, was wondering if someone could suggest a cam suitable for mild street use, and also I was wondering as I have an iron X-flow head on my 200, whether the alloy 250 head fits. I have the head sitting at home on another engine. Also which way would comp go, I'm guessing down.

Might be a bit cheaper on fuel at lower rpm with the alloy head and is much lighter but the Iron head is harder to find. I think they will go on from a previous post on this (please check).
If your only concerned is about power the Iron head should be OK. I regret I got rid of mine.

If you ring Kieth at Wade cams in VIC and talk to him he can advise you. Hes been the most helpful of anyone Ive spoken to so far.
Unless you know what your after its hard to advise but something around 214 duration at 50 is generally considered a mild good hot up.

Your not in Perth perchance? If you are I am willing to help you, ive got some headers and intake manifold for alloy head if your wanting it. (free)
Since your talking a 200 then rpm is the thing for you, so
use alloy head, weight saving allone is wrth it, more availability of bits.
cam around 22o @ 0.50. solid lifters, decent springs and retainers.
good intake or try two factory webers on cut up stock manifold.
headers with 2.5 single system.
stock comp and head, dont port as youll loose too much low end power.
Otherwise stock lower end etc.
Get back if I can help
