I hear the guys who run them in oval racing 4cyl classes just leave the bolts in the upper arms really loose so they don't bite. They must use cotter pins, or some sort of lock nut to keep them from falling out.
 
Some of the bushings I replaced with urathane. Others I grind off and or insetert a washer to disable them. Some like the upper A arm on my Grand Marquis some teeth were on the cross shaft itself.
