Almost there!!!!! I MIGHT even get to try to start this thing this weekend!

I am not going to be heating the intake manifold, how exactly will I hook up the heater coil? Do I just connect one hose to the water pump and then the other to one of the outlets coming of the head? Then I would just plug the other tap off the head.

As far as vac lines I just have the trans and the dizzy. Guess I can just run them both off the taps on the carb and plug everything on the intake...Correct? The little stromberg 1v that I am using for now seems to have all it's taps marked.

Any other last minute tips????

For the heater, take the water pump branch as mentioned, then the closest head outlet to the thermostat (but before it).

The water does not so much "heat" the manifold as provide a regulated temperature. After all, carb freezing is unknown here. Steady state operation is usually a way to better efficiency and tuneability.

Vacuum for the distributor comes off the carb as described. For your C4 transmission I would suggest a vacuum point on the manifold is best. The PCV would go to your carb base, and the un-regulated valve cover hose feeds from inside the air cleaner housing. Some of the carb ports include fuel return (later models) and charcoal canister.

Thanks addo.

I think I am going to run water through the intake after all. I am in Chicago and this thing may see some temps in the 20's and 30's from time to time.

I think my head only has the 2 outlets right next to the stat. So the water will run from one of those ports on the head to one side of the intake, then out the other side of the intake and to the heater coil. the other side of the coil just runs back to the water pump.
