Hello All,
I was wandering if any of the cars that came with Cross Flow engines had emblems on them stating what engine was in the car. What I would like is a chrome emblem to mount on my hood scoop. I'm putting a cross flow in my Comet and thought it might be cool if there was a factory emblem that said Cross Flow 250. Something like the mustangs that have the Cobra-Jet 428 emblems on the scoop. Also, is there a source for factory engine decals? Any help? Thanks,
Dave

From 71 to 75 there were flank badges showing 250 cubic inch.
From 76 the XC falcons and XD falcons had 4.1 badges on the flanks.
When Ford went to the XC series the nomenclature changed from cubic inches to litres.
Addo is correct when they went to the alloy head they ceased showing the capacity until the EA series when they labelled the capacity as 3.9 or later 4.0.
If you go to www.fomoco.com.au and look for XY falcon under badges you can get a badge showing 250 High Performance or 250 170HP. These badges are indistinguishable from OE.
The 170HP was the badge used for the 2V's.
The former badge is one they developed which looks quite original.
You can order online and they will ship.

The 250 High Performance badge was original also, have only seen a couple of sets of them though. One set was on a ZD Fairlane, the other on a XY Falcon 500.

You guys really got me going in the right direction. I'm going to have to spend some time at the fomoco web site. Lots of good info. Thanks Mark...
