Rented a lift today and yanked out the old 200. 200 Came out without any fight at all.
Aussie C4 bell bolted right on the 68 C4. When I was rotating the bell on the front of the trans, fluid started pouring out the front of the trans. After lining up the holes again and bolting on the bell all leaking stopped.
the 68 289 V8 torque converter went right on the shaft. no problems.
Starter is in the same place as the 200 and it looks like the 200 starter will fit.
crossflow went in pretty easy. I used the old 200 motor mounts. It was snug but it fit. I would guess the crossflow is maybe 1/2" wider then the 200.
Oil pan clears the cross member but just barely.
The front of the oil pan is resting on the sway bar. This is the only thing that doesn't clear. I am just using the stock sway bar too! Unless you guys have some suggestions, I think I will need to make a couple 3/4" spacers for where the sway bar bolts to the frame.
In the AM I have to bolt the torque converter to the flywheel. Also have to grab some bigger bolts to connect the bell to the engine. The crossflow uses larger ones then the 200.
