Rented a lift today and yanked out the old 200. 200 Came out without any fight at all.

Aussie C4 bell bolted right on the 68 C4. When I was rotating the bell on the front of the trans, fluid started pouring out the front of the trans. After lining up the holes again and bolting on the bell all leaking stopped.

the 68 289 V8 torque converter went right on the shaft. no problems.

Starter is in the same place as the 200 and it looks like the 200 starter will fit.

crossflow went in pretty easy. I used the old 200 motor mounts. It was snug but it fit. I would guess the crossflow is maybe 1/2" wider then the 200.

Oil pan clears the cross member but just barely.

The front of the oil pan is resting on the sway bar. This is the only thing that doesn't clear. I am just using the stock sway bar too! Unless you guys have some suggestions, I think I will need to make a couple 3/4" spacers for where the sway bar bolts to the frame.

In the AM I have to bolt the torque converter to the flywheel. Also have to grab some bigger bolts to connect the bell to the engine. The crossflow uses larger ones then the 200.

Good stuff! You Are The X, Man!

The engine is heavier by about 100 pounds, and compresses the stock mounts more, the engine is about 9.625" wide at the mounts, not 9.125" like in the 200.

The engine can be raised by adding a set of Maverick 250 mounts, but its better to look at lowering the stock stablizer bar or checking to see if you can flaten the sump a little without hurting the oil pickup.

Don't race into it any further untill you have the gearbox positioned correctly, and the drive shaft in. The gearbox is like 120 pounds, and will bring the front up when fitted.

Again, good work.

Bolted on the trans. The sway bar is just barely touching so I think some 1/2" spacers will do the trick.

The oil pan is now touching the cross member on one side in the corner. There is probably 1/2" clearance on the other side. Sugggestions?

Otherwise everything looks good.

Check your steering at full lock. The centrelink rises up and may strike the oil pan.

Even a pair of ¼" spacers in the mounts may raise the motor enough to clear all the obstructions.
