Deciphering the Dizzy

Here's a mock up of my distributor's ID plate.

I'm looking to up grade to a Pertronix system but even they are unsure if part 91266 Ignitor 2 will work. The serial number on the plate matches the Pertronix number with the exception of the "C". They have it listed as "D".

Was this a Ford upgrade, or a completely different distributor?

The Pertronix rep did say that I could send them the distributor and they'd see if it'll work out. If anyone knows for sure either way, I'd appreciate it. Don't want to go wasting anyones time.

Thanks...

I actually just talked to another rep at Pertronix and he told me the 91266 (Ignitor 2) and 1266 (Ignitor) will fit the distributor if the shaft is circular with a flat "notch" to hold on the rotor. There is also a compatible model (1261) for the hollow shaft distributors.

All the places I've seen online lists these two kits for the 1962-1964 Ford 6 so I hope he's right.

Gonna order one of these up today or tomorrow and see what happens.

Right.
I have a '62 with that kit on it, and I have a '58 engine in pieces.
I was gonna check and see if the parts looked like they would match up :)

I keep that stuff at my parents, about a 3 hour drive from here. I'll check on it when I go down this weekend.
