Now that the weather is looking much fairer for outside activites, I've been thinking about a direct mount 2bbl carburetor. I have a '77 log head, so it shouldn't be a problem. The only thing that is holding me back is the final results.

My question is, will I see better performance (and economy) from my current duel Webers or will a 2BBL, like a motorcraft 1.21, be better?

The Webers are funneled.

Two 32/36 with funnel adapters.

I did some analyzing last night with EA 3.0 and it looks like I am getting pretty decent performace already (and mileage). If I were to go with a single 2bbl I would need to increase my flow to something like 500+ CFM to equal what I'm currently seeing.

Hmmm...

I had thought about using 2 dgvs like that also. What are your engine trany and rearend specs? WHat kind of performance are you getting?

Engine is basically stock. No aftermarket camshaft or headers. The transmission is a C4 w/ a rear differential ratio of 2.8:1

As far as performance, it's pretty good actually. Alot of torque. And the mileage is usually between 20-22 MPG. It was a little better with a single progressive, about 25 MPG, but I wanted a little more...go.

I may put on some headers next year, then again...I may not.

After running several simulations, adding headers didn't really pay off. I would have to add a good aftermarket camshaft and dual exhaust before I say a pay off. But that's an additional 400 bucks - I can wait. :D
