Distributor gear

Hey guys, sorry if this sounds stupid, but I need to know if there's only one distributor gear for the small six 200, I was looking at classic inlines and they're selling a hardened distributor gear ( http://classicinlines.com/proddetail.as ... UI-200-HDG ) it says it's fine for stock, I have a non-stock cam that came with the block, would it still work fine? The cam is just a bit warmed up I believe the rebuilder said but definitely not OEM

The hardened gear is pretty much mandatory for long gear life on an non-Ford cam. If you can't determine the maker of your camshaft, better to play it safe.

Maybe WSA also has some of his specialised heat-treated gears available?

Adam, i don't know what Mike offers at classic inlines for hardened gears.

First the best of the aftermarket gears is an AC Delco F719.

I have had the AC Delco gears nitrided by a major aero space heat treating firm from 30 rockwell hardness on the C scale to over 40 rockwell in hardness.

Todays camshafts are close to 50 rockwell hardness.

Just to have a gear parkerized is not hardening, but is a surface treatment which holds lubricant during breakin.

I sell my gears for $45.00 which includes shipping to the lower 48 states.

The best gear is made by crow cams in austrailia. But no one sells them is the USA except me.

I have several of the crow gears in stock but i will only sell one. The cost is $100.00 which includes shipping to the lower 48.

Why the cost for the aussi gears is it costs $30.00 for a phone call & then the shipping to the USA.

I do accept paypal. Bill
