Distributor Install

So I just got my engine back from the shop. When I took the engine in I stripped everything off of it save for the distributor. The shop didn't reinstall it so I'm not sure how it bolts down to the block.

The distributor is in the block. Number 1 is at TDC and I've got the roter lined up on number 1. I just need to know how it bolts to the block. This is like the last thing I have to do before I reattach the tranny and drop it in my car.

I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

There is a small adapter that bolts to the block at the base of the distributor. It just seems to be that there should be a spacer between the block and the bottom of the adapter. Otherwise it doesn't sit on the base of the distributor flat. As you tighten it down it's angled. It just doesn't look right to me.

Anyone have a picture of their distributor at the base so I can see what the hold down piece looks like?

IF this works it is the picture you was wanting. It is not the best photo, but I think you will get what you are needing.

I got a rebiult dist from a parts store and the body was cast and not machined so it wouldn`t fit in the hole all I had to do was get some 180 grit sand paper and sand it down after a little while it droped right in

Geocites does not allow image hosting, so I 'copied' the pic to another location. Here it is:

Al, thankyou!!! That is exactly what I needed! Thanks everyone for the help.

Thanks Al. I was not aware of GeoCities not allowing hosting. I am still figureing out this stuff. I was wondering why it was not working.

Larry, try putting your pics on HP Photo (free). You can then link them to the Forum.
