I'm currently running ford 200ci w/a 2bbl weber 38 with a rebuilt load-o-matic dizzy where on earth does the vacuum from the dizzy go on the carb?! so far I've been running it into the manifold w/ the engine seeming to strugle on the top end I really need to get a tach so I can see what the engine is doing! cool

That's because at load, you have lost all your manifold vacuum and the ignition it too far retarded to give good power or economy.

The only real solution is to upgrade your distributor to a later model.

yes but where on the carb does the vacuum from dizzy go :?: :!:

you answered why the engine sucks on the top end but I still don't know where to put the vacuum advence on the weber 38. should i go w/ a DII dizzy and some after market ignition instead? this is a rebuilt and recurved dizzy for that matter so maybe I can upgrade my ignition some other way.

thanks

On the base of the carb on the primary side there should be a port, but on many Webers this is blocked off with a plug. That's a ported vacuum source.

Since the '68 1100 for a 200 is "detuned" with a smaller venturi from a 170 carb resulting in less power (according to pony carbs, anyhow), then would running an earlier 1100 for a '65-'67 200 with the '68 distributor I am now running be "better" or "worse"? I'm asking as I'm in the market for a used carb for a 200, and need to know if it really matters what year of carb I buy  For ID purposes, I take it the '68 1100 does not have the spark control thingy next to the vac. inlet, correct?

I'm looking at a holley carb of unknown origin, and don't know what year distributor it is intended to run with. I know it 's not the early type used on the '60-'62 falcons. Here's the ad-

I've got a carb at home still in the "rebuil box" it came in. I was saving it just in case. I can snap some photos and send them to you if it might be the one you need. Let me know.

What engine is it intended for- a 170 or 200? Sure, photos would be a help!
