Can a 250 dizzy fit a 200? Also is there a difference between a dizzy for a manual tranny and auto? This one says for an auto.dizzy



Or even this one


My engine is a 67 200 bored .040 with a 3 speed manual.
I have the original dizzy and the vacuum advance doesn't work. It has pertronix ignitor and flamethrower II coil. I am running the Holley/Weber 2bbl with a 1 to 2bbl adapter. No cam or anything like that.

Also if I was to get either dizzy what is needed to install it? I noticed they both had a plug on them.

First one is better value, but how dear are they from Rockauto? I've not looked.

To install, you either need to crimp or solder (preferable) some connectors up. You'll also have to buy an ignition driving module of some type - whether aftermarket, Ford style or the GM unit.

So I won't need the pertronix anymore if I was to put either one of those in?

Your Pertronix will be free to do what a Pertronix does best.

Ok, well I never did buy the dizzy, but my flamethrower II coil died yesterday. So I am looking at them again.


What is the difference between a dizzy for an auto and a dizzy for a manual. I found one I want, but it says for automatic transmissions and I have a manual.
