Another question has come up as i work forward on my mustang. Can i use a pre-DS II coil with the screw-in terminals with the DSII ingition and ford controler? or do i need to get a newer coil with newer terminals? Part numbers would be amazing as well! Thanks a ton as always. The engine is a 250 from a 75 Maverick.

yes you can use the earlier coil, however i suggest going to an MSD blaster ll coil instead a it was designed for the higher output.

The Blaster 2 or 3 would be my choice of coils especially with the MSD6-al box which is a capacitive discharge system.
With the MSD box you are putting 400 volts into the primary windings thus a higher spark output.
Below 3000 rpms you benefit from multiple spark for a cleaner idle & midrange.
