I have a 76 Mav with a 250 and C4. Great car. I am in the middle of trying to build the 250 to 1970 spec. So far I have de-smoged the six and replaced the carb YFA to an RBS. A couple of weeks ago, I changed the timing change chain and gears to the '70 setup. Today, I bought a set of Advance Curve Springs, Mr. Gasket #925D, and replaced the origional set. When I took the Armature off the Sleeve, I never saw a roll pin. My work area was clean and I would have seen something if it was there. This is where I need help, can anyone tell me what the size of the roll pin? I will go buy one tomorrow.
Thanks,
Ken

Do you have some small drill bits that you can use to match up to the bore? If so you can figure it out that way.

Ok, with that, is the length the distance of the plate assy shaft thru the sleeve to the top of the armature?
Thanks,
Ken

Today I measured the dia to be 3/32 of an inch. I added a spring pin instead of a straight pin. Then put it back together. Now the car is running great.
Boy, what can I mess up tomorrow?
Thanks for the help,
Ken

It's not called "messing up"... It's called bonding.

These ARE the good times that you'll treasure in the future...

Good Luck with it

Ken, easy fix, the roll pin is .098 in diameter.

You can purchase a roll pin assortment from advance auto & shorten the pin to the thickness of the reluctor.

If you pm me with your name & address I will send you one in the mail.

I just purchased a pack of them from my local ford dealer & would be more than happy to send you one. William

Thanks for the offer William,
I went to ACE and bought a 3/32 (.094 dia) spring pin and pressed it in. It seems to work great.
