Is this engine compatible with all ford 6's? If not where are the aftermarket supliers? Such as electric ignition, carburators, manifolds, and internal parts. I am a novice ford builder and mabe I havent picked the right ford to start. Your input whould be helpful.

With the new interest in actual traditional hot roddin', the inlines the enthusiasts used to turn there noses up to suddenly are new again. Companies like Offenhauser and Edelbrock sold huge amounts of Cheuy and Mopar as well as Ford "Hop Up " parts for the family six as well as the street pounders of the day. Others like Clifford, Fenton and others specialized in inlines as they outsold "Veeates" three to one through the sixties. I understand even mustangs sold two sixes for every eight until the 70's. Nascar in the 50's was DOMINATED by Flathead six Hudsons.

I collect Holley carbs and the 223's had great Glass bowl Holleys as well as readily available "speed" equipment which shows up on E-Buy as well as re-pop stuff...

Here's a few p;laces friendly towards old sixes:

OT but since U asked:

I use the original sensor port for the mechanical water Temp. guage and the probe is part of the PermaCool fan setup. I had two water outlets with the needed 1/2" NPT thread but they didn't fit the 250. I had to have my machinist tap the port since it was NPT and a thin alum casting.
