I don't think the six cylinder engine mounts are mechanically internal safety proof.

Never had one break, but rather than use a cable or chain restraint i welded a mechanical restraint used on the left side of the engine. Bill

my method is to drive out the pin thats supposed to serve as a safety and replace it with a grade 8 bolt of the right size (1/2" for the big 6) and a locknut.
the concern with your bar there is that once the rubber is broken, there may be some chance of the engine moving fore-aft and escaping your safety...not that i expect such a thing, nice work!
 
The '61 has a 250 with the early (60-62?), right angle mounts re-drilled for the wider block. also drilled through the mount's plates for Grade 8 bolts with captive nuts. Retains the rubber cushion but limits torque movement.
