engine/ radiator flush whats the best

gotta replace 2 year old radiator,, when I pulled the head to rebuild it ,,,the block looked like it had to much rust,,I've seen/heard/read that OXALIC acid is the chem to use and then flush with baking soda to neutralize it.....problem is I can;t find it so what would be the runner up for a solid engine flush? as usaul any info helps .. thanks
 
Oxalic acid can also be very poisonous. :shock:

Regular hydrochloric acid is cheap and will eat rust nicely. Even straight ethanoic acid (vinegar) will do the job.

Remember add water, THEN acid! Work prepared for a disaster. Wear chemical proof gloves, goggles and have a large pail of fresh water barely a yard away for emergencies.
