Help! I need ideas on the best way to get out old rusted exhaust manifold bolts. I need to replace the exhaust gasket for the stock manifold and I can't get to bolts out I have already snapped one bolt head off.
Soak them with liquid wrench, WD-40 or whatever. Then add heat, heat and a little more heat. I've used a small propane torch that you can get at any hardware store and it has worked really well with stubborn bolts. Having said that, the only bolt I've ever broken on the Mustang has been a manifold bolt. Lucky for me it was on one of the "ears" so it was easy to drill out.
Heat, then PB Blaster (like WD40, but better). Let it sit a day, repeat a few times, and then try it. I did that with my frozen rear spring eye bolts. Worked like a charm.
