falco vs ford driveshafts

Are the Falcon driveshafts the same in length compared to the 68 mustang with a C-4 in it. I was wondering if I could swap 7 1/4" rear ends to gain Falcons better gear ratio?? Although we both have 4lugs, I know the 4 lug bolt set up on the drums is different, I am willing to get them machined. Any info is appreciated.

Can you tell me the lengths by any chance? With that being the case how expensive could it be to cut/machine the driveshaft assuming the Mustang is longer? I have a chance to buy a Falcon 7 1/4" rear end with a 3.20:1 ratio. But don't know if it will end up costing more than just having mine rebuilt with the higher gear ratio????

8) if you are just swapping rearends you dont need to do anything with the driveshaft. the falcon shaft will be longer than the mustang shaft by about 1" though.

I remember sbout 53.5 inches for the Stanger, and 54.5" for the roundy body pre 66 Falcon.

It does depend on how you measure, though!

So can it be done? Will I have to worry about the bolt pattern on the drums? Need new wheels? What is the best way for me to do this swap? Sorry I have asked these questions in more than one forum, but I am rather new to all this and want to be efficient in what I spend, while still improving the cars performance.
