falcon transmission

Could anyone tell me the difference between the old borg warner 35 and the newer 50/55 apart from the speedo drive, reverse switch and the cooler lines. I have a nearly new one out of a late model panel van still carby fed x flow and am wondering how much of a pain to fit in xc falcon.
