So just to reiterate here. Does the ring go on the inside of the flexplate to space the flaxplate away from the sandwich plate OR does it go on the outside of the flex plate? I only have 1 with my setup.
I have just mounted a rebuild C4 to my rebuilt Ford 200 and when getting to the final step of putting the nuts on the torque converter, when turning the motor off of TDC about 90% of the way around the motor stuck on something, like a TC bolt was hitting the sandwich plate. I call it a sandwich plate because I heard someone else call it that. Honestly i don't know what you call it. When inspecting the area, I could not see any bolts hitting. But it stops with a "clunk". Gads how depressing.
I tried to make sure the TC was positioned ALL the way in, to the line the Trans shop drew on the bell. it did pull the TC forward a tab when torquing down the nuts.
BTW I put the Ring on the crank and then the flexplate on the outside. Maybe this is the problem?
