Hey all,
One more noob question for you guys. I was talking to 62Ranchero about this and wanted to put it up here to get y'alls collective thoughts.
I got a set of early forged 300 rods, as per his build. Am planning on running them with custom pistons, also similar to his. His build sheet calls for a 2.700 x 0.912" wrist pin. I am woefully unfamiliar with the idea of floating or pressing pistons... I have done some googling but still don't fully understand the concept. My rods have a .910 hole...Can anyone help me out with pros/cons of floating/pressed for these forged pistons? Or just what the rod diameter needs to be in respect to the pin diameter with/without a bushing... Or just point me in the direction of a good resource where I can read about this? I appreciate the help, guys!
