Anything out of the ordinary involved in swapping to a 3 speed? I have a trans, flywheel, clutch, and a bellhousing with release fork. Is a stick pedal assembly a bolt in? I had planned on using an aftermarket shifter, so swapping a column won't be necessary. What about driveshaft length and front yoke? Anything else I should be aware of?

I probably should have given some info on what it's going into. Its a 62 Ranchero with a 170.....

I can't answer your question; although I know it's been done a hundred times without any difficulty. I never did it, but it's a common swap.
I'm actually writing in hopes I can buy your fly wheel cover (inspection plate) from your old Ford-o-Matic. Any chance you could let it go?

I think most people do the 200/c4 or t5 when they swap. But I was told my new 200 would mate to my fordomatic. At least until we figured out it was a big bell.

also you'll have to get a tranny mount and maybe have the driveshaft shortened.

The last Falcon I had, about ten years ago, I went the 200 c-4 route, and it worked well. Maybe I'll go that way on this one, I just wanted to use the 3 speed because I have most of the parts required for the swap.

Well, can ya? Please.

Sorry, I can't let it go yet, I'm leaving the auto in it until all the parts for the swap are rounded up.
