Good Morning

I amchanging some things over from my old 170 to a rebuilt 200.I was thinking of using the fuel pump but is it the same one for both engines? Also, how do I check to see of it is any good.If I left the 170 for a while,I would have a hard time starting. Is this a fuel pump problem?

Thanks

I'm not sure if it's the same fuel pump or not. Someone else will chime in.

As far as the starting thing: that could be a myriad of things. I highly doubt it's the fuel pump (because if the car eventually did start and ran, then that proves the fuel pump does work, thus, not your problem). Usually when you leave it a while it just does that. All of them do.

:D Yep,the gas evaporates out of the fuel bowl.Pump then has to refill the bowl before the engine will start. This is normal when a vehicle sits for a while.

Depends on temperature, humidity, altitude, etc...

After a week, the bowl in the 'chero is pretty drained. That's why it's nice to have an electric FP ;)
