has anyone cut the intake or exaust port through the left side of the head?

I am looking into building a 250 with intake and exaust on opposite sides of the head.

Preferably intake on the right and exaust on the left between the spark plugs

seems like that would be a major PITA to do...u would have some MAJOR grinding to do...definitely not worth it IMO...what are the chances of adapting a chevy 250 head to the Ford...the chevy head has the intake on the opposite side...what are the dimensions like? although it is sacreligious to put chevy stuff on fords, it sounds feasible to me...any thoughts?

Maybe the best question here is, what are you trying to accomplish? If crossflow is the ultimate goal, maybe Jack's work on the Ozzie crossflow is the easiest best bet to look at. Bore centers are in the right spot, camshafts with correct acuation are available...

Certainly the crossflow adapted to a US block is less costly and time consuming than cutting up a couple V heads and welding them to gether (if aluminum) and he attendant alignment, warpage, and cam issues
