Head bolt washer

Looking to buy a bolt kit for my head install. The head has been milled. Will the washers in the ARP kit sold by FSPP be thick enough to make up the difference? Head milled .060" Thanks Ed

Measuring the installed height with a bolt bottomed in the freshly-cleaned threads, is probably best practice. I've always bought hardened washers from an engineering supplies - less than 40¢ each and around 45-50 thou thick.

Thanks! I don't know why I didn't think of that!

Well, it assumes your headbolts are OK.

I've experienced several on an older 200 suddenly "neck" and nearly snap while reaching final torque. These days, only the automotive aftermarket supplies suitable headbolts.

Don't forget to grease both sides of the washers with moly lube or clean motor oil.

:D Why don`t you order a set of head studs from ARP?Tell them what you are working on and the amount of cut on the head. Then they can give you the correct thickness washer. You will have a better fastner system also.
